Women's Tennis Posts Win Over Kutztown
BLOOMSBURG -- The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team posted a 5-4 win over Kutztown University on Thursday.
Bloomsburg jumped out to a 2-0 lead after doubles with the team of Katie Hasyn (Lansdale/North Penn) and Kristen Bonito (Bridgewater, MA/Coyle-Cassidy Memorial) winning at number two, 8-3 and the team of Laura Sullivan (Dingman's Ferry/Delaware Valley) and Andrea Malatesta (Berwick/Berwick) winning at three doubles, 8-1.
In singles play, Bloomsburg picked up wins at four, five and six singles to get the victory. Sullivan won at four 6-1, 6-0; Bonito won at five, 6-1, 6-1; and Malesta was a winner at six, 6-2, 6-0.
The Huskies, now 11-3, will host East Stroudsburg on Monday at 4 p.m.
